Kind sir/madam,
our library has been using an open source program to catalogue our library books. This program is not made specifically for a library but can be used for one. We use accession numbers that re-start each year, e.g. for books, we use B1/2011, B 1/2012, B 1/2013 etc. is this setup possible in NewGenLib or will we need to change accession numbers on previously catalogued books? we are currently testing NewGenLib to learn how to use it and see how best to implement it in our library. Regarding the previous data, can we export the data form our current program and import it into NewGenLib as a csv file? |
Respected Patron,
Greetings from NGL Open Source. 1. The accession number are differentiated by a Year. Right? It means B1/2011, B1/2012, B1/2013 can be treated as an accession number? If yes then its possible. Can you please email your sample Accession register for our reference. You may email it to support<attherate>verussolutions.biz 2. To start using NGL Open Source you can start with Cataloguing. See the URL http://www.verussolutions.biz/kb/catalogingFAQ This will be a best start 3. Yes, if you have a CSV file of your previous data you can import it. If you can Email us the csv file to support<attherate>verussolutions.biz, we will migrate it to NGL schema and also help you install the same. Hello,
I sent an example of our accession register to the e-mail, and I was assured by our IT team that they will look into installing NewGenLib on my work computer shortly. I have another question: While trying to familiarize myself with the program, I entered currency data, but I somehow managed to duplicate it and ended up with two different conversion rates for our local currency. I cannot delete it, and I cannot get the log file to be sent automatically. How can I fix this? Thank you in advance. After launching the desktop application, and attempting to generate log, I get this: I cannot find C:/SystemFiles folder nor the .txt file. My system is Windows 7 Home Basic, Service Pack 1, 2GB RAM, 32-bit operating system. While following the installation instructions, it was mentioned that we could choose the location of NGL files, so I chose the D: disk, which has more free space. However, there is no System Files folder there either. Please advise! Also, would appreciate clarification on the local currency - I presume the conversion rate for this would be 1?? There is nothing on this in the help files. Please advise! |
Please follow below steps
1. Windows Start Button -> Programs -> Postgresql 8.X->PgAdmin III 2. Login into Server 3. Go to newgenlib database -> Schemas->public->Tables 4. Select acc_foriegn_exchange table, right click and click on "View Rows". 5. Select unwanted row and delete it On 07/09/2013 02:06 AM, Aida [via NewGenLib] wrote: Hello,
