Cannot Attach file on CLient Machine

I have downloaded the NGL 3.0.4 R1, I attached a file from the server but cannot attach through Client Machine. Can you please advice me on what to do?

1. Create a directory called DigitalAttachments in C: drive

2. In that directory create a folder CatalogueRecords in the above created directory

3. In C:/NewGenLibFiles/SystemFiles/ENV_VAR.txt define a key value pair as below

ATTACHMENTS_PATH=C:/DigitalAttachments

Restart NGL server. Now do the attachments

Please i need to know, how do i install the client, what and what is needed to be installed on the Client Machine.

2.  How do i make backup of the New version 3.0.4 incase of any eventuality.

3.  How do i upgrade from 2.5 version to 3.0.4

Please i need to know, how do i install the client, what and what is needed to be installed on the Client Machine.
Step 1: Download and install JRE 6 (Not 7) from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html
Step 2: Install it on the client system
Step 3: On the client system open browser and type the following address <a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://">http://<ip address of ngl server>:8080/newgenlibctxt/LaunchApplication

2.  How do i make backup of the New version 3.0.4 incase of any eventuality.
Open PgAdmin3 and take a database backup

3.  How do i upgrade from 2.5 version to 3.0.4

I discovered that the attached files open straight from the opac without login in. which i think is wrong.  How can we rectify this.

URLs(Links) open directly without authentication
But Attachments pop-up for a login(if they are open-archive elements then also login does not popup).
Please confirm this

I attached the pdf using attachment also using Full View and both option open directly without popup for Login. No the Attachments did not pop-up for a login. it open straight without login in popup.
