Changing server

mavicsilva
Hi.
I installed NGL in one of our computer but we are going to change our server. So, how do I transfer my file from my current computer to the new one?
Thanks.

Step 1: Take Postgresql backup of newgenlib database on your old server

Step 2: Install NGL as a new installation on the new server

Step 3: Drop newgenlib database on the new server

Step 4: Create a database newgenlib on the new server

Step 5: Restore newgenlib backup taken in the old server (in step 1) into the newgenlib database created in Step 4

Step 6: Using psql execute AddedScripts.sql file present in C:/InstallNGL3.0/scripts (on the new server)

Step 7: Using psql execute V303AddedScripts.sql file present in C:/InstallNGL3.0/upgrade303 (on the new server)

Step 8: Start NGL Server (apache tomcat)

Step 9: Double click on RunIndex.bat file to start indexing. This file is present in C:/Indexer

Hello.

These old steps still holds true for the new version, only replace PostgreSQL '8.0' with '8.3': http://newgenlib.wikispaces.com/How+to+restore+back+database%3F

Get back to us if there are still problems... ;-)

If the backup is in compressed format then the "ok" button will be enabled. I think your data backup must be in plain format.
If that is the case, please use psql tool to restore the database

You must Run Indexer.
Please go to C: drive on the NGL Server. You will find a directory called Indexer. In the Indexer directory you will find a batch file RunIndexer.bat. Double click on that. This will do the Indexing
Now search your database again
