Problem in data conversion

Ashok Ku. Satapathy
Dear Team,
I am using 2.5 version of NGL. In this present situation I  am using Postgres 8.1. When I try to upgrade my database I found problem. I mean to say, after installation of 3.0.3 U4 I upload the backup file in the newly installed version, but when I chedked the previlege, I got parameters are missing. In that case I have to configure again. In this regard I wat to know:

-  Postgres 8.1 is equal to Postgres 8.3?
-  If so, can we upload the backup file from 8.3 to 8.1 version (that means from 3.0.3 U4 to earlier version 2.5)?

Please guide me.

Re: Problem in data conversion

Thank you very for you help. It was done properly now after I install

1. V304R1Must.sql
2. SearchForm.sql
3. AddedScripts.sql

BuildIndexing must be run at the final.

If I installed script 1 and 2 after restoring(from compress backup file), it was not working--there are 317 tables , I have to install script 3--there are over 320 tables.

For the privilege.sql, can we install after restoring for after script 1 or 2 or 3?

Thanks.
