Restore the database from 2.5 to 3.0.4 R1

ashoksatapathy
I have installed newly the ngl version 3.0.4 R1. Due to some problem in postgre 8.3 version I installed 8.4 version. At the time of installation of Postgres 8.4 the default post No. is 5433.

Now I want to restore my previous backup i.e. in ngl 2.5 version in new version (3.0.4 R1). As instructed by the developer team I tried a lot to restore but I found the following problems.

1. In compress format only 202 tables was created instead of 303 (error)
2. In plain format we found a problem related with 5432 port. It is also error

Plz. guide me how to restore?

With best regard.

Use the plain format with the below command for psql
psql -d newgenlib -U postgres -p 5433

Thanks for your immediate reply. Accordingly I can configure the database, but still it shows 302 tables. I think one of any table was missed. Then what to do?
Is it a problem or we can proceed with this.

Is it necessary? to run the following scripts by the same procedure i.e. \i c:/...

1. AddedScripts.sql
2.  V304AddedScripts.sql
3. SearchForm.sql
4. V304R1Must.sql

I got this same problem when I upgrade from 2.5 to 3.0.4 R1 (still have only 302 tables). Please let me know the link to download that script. I really want to try with your comment.

Thanks in advance.

Hi all friends,

I have success migrating from 2.5 to 3.0.4 R1, and it was working fine with OPAC but I cannot logging  with existing user to NGL EE V3.0 Carbon client (it shown nothing --not invalid user). The existing users can logging through OPAC and from OPAC, I can search my old records, it is working fine.
Could you please help me on this?

Sopheaktra,
