categorize books in a tree manner?

we wanna categorize our books in a tree manner in vufind for the patrons also in ngl if it is able to handle.
eg:
+Science
 -Physics
 -+Medicine
     -Optometry
     -Neurology
     -Nephrology
     -Dentistry
 -Geography
 -Agriculture
 -Chemistry
 -Space
 
also we wanna set identify  (number, character or mix ) for each category
eg:
+Science -> E7
  -+Medicine -> 05
      - Dentistry -> 6
so the books in Dentistry has E7 5.06 and like so

In Administration -> Configure System -> Authority files (tree structure) -> Topical Terms
You can create relation between subjects. Relation means boarder terms or narrow terms or related terms.
For Example: Optometry is a narrow term for Medicine and Medicine is a narrow term for Science
