Sir we have a group of institution and i want to add one other library with this, how can i do this ?

Hi, We recommend the usage of creating new Sub-locations to handle
multiple libraries.
Administration -> Configure System -> Technical processing -> Sub location (and shelving locations) In Technical processing -> Primary cataloguing you can select the sub location to which the catalogue record belongs to On Saturday 18 February 2012 12:51 PM, Hemant Singh [via NewGenLib] wrote:

Sir
i have two libraries Library 1 and Library 2 i want server should be one but staff of Library 2 can't do any thing with data of Library1 and same with staff of Library 1 . staff can work with data of own library only |
1. Extract the zip file into C: drive of your server
2. Now you will find a directory CreateLibrary in your C: drive. Go into that directory you will find a file named launch.jnlp. Double click on it to initiate the application. 3. Remember that you must create only Master libraries On 02/18/2012 02:37 PM, Hemant Singh [via NewGenLib] wrote: Sir CreateLibrary.zip (444K) Download Attachment

I followed the procedure and able to configure successfully, but when I go to the opac page it will not show the initial (first) library. Other library will come under the network library.
Same time, how do we enter any bibliographical records under any network library. Which is separate and simultaneously transaction will made separately. Please guide me. |
May I know which version of NGL you
are using?

Presently we are using 2.5 version. Side by side I am testing the version of 3.0.4 R1. Do you mean procedure is different as version? Please guide me in 2.5 version because this is the current used one.

Sir, In the previous version (2.5) If you had multiple libraries then by default the Network page will open. From the Network page you can go into library page. Also, there were issues in directly accessing the library page In the current version Though the default page is network page. When you go from Network page to library page, the library page will have a URL. You can use that URL (Web address) to directly go to Library page Each library can create and modify its own catalogue. However any library can add their own holdings to a different library's catalogue On Fri, 26 Oct 2012 12:54:05 +0530, Ashok [via NewGenLib] <[hidden email]> wrote: Presently we are using 2.5 version. Thanks,
We have two libraries (say A & B). In A library there are 5000 books has been entered and circulated every day to its patrons. B is a new library. We have configured separate deptt., Course, Patron, and set the privilege to its users category successfully. When we entered bibliographical data in library B it is not working. Now the problem is how to entered bibliographical data in the library B. |
Sir, Please check if you defined 1. Sub locations 2. Shelving locations for Library B If not, please define atleast one Sub location and Shelving location for Library B On Fri, 26 Oct 2012 13:49:23 +0530, Ashok [via NewGenLib] <[hidden email]> wrote: Thanks, -- Using Opera's revolutionary email client: http://www.opera.com/mail/

As per your suggestion I worked and got success. The present problem is once I logout and try to login again with the default id and password I found that the administrative authorityship was lost. I cannot modify, creat patron, or any modification as a administrator. Why?

Database name: newgenlib User name: postgres Password: newgenlib Above are the default parameters. When I press on continue it shows "Connection could not established". Please guide me how to configure. |
Please use newgenlib as user name and try If it still did not work, did you make necessary changes in Postgresql.conf and pg_hba.conf files On Sat, 27 Oct 2012 09:37:30 +0530, Ashok [via NewGenLib] <[hidden email]> wrote: I tried the "CreateLibrary" in 3.0.4 R1 it is not working. -- Using Opera's revolutionary email client: http://www.opera.com/mail/

In the PgAdmin3, itself for the "B" library, for patron_id "1", the patron_type must be A. If it is not A, set it as A You will be able to login into the system of the "B" library On Fri, 26 Oct 2012 16:37:45 +0530, Ashok [via NewGenLib] <[hidden email]> wrote: Yes. -- Using Opera's revolutionary email client: http://www.opera.com/mail/
