Dear Hany,
Newgenlib installation does not support JDK7. Please install Jdk-6u45-windows-i586.exe from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk6downloads-1902814.html.
I hope then your installation will run fine.

Respected Patron,
Greetings from NGL Open Source

Kindly mention the version you are using.

A simple solution to resolve this issue:
1. Open Start->Programs->Postgresql->PgAdmin3
2. Login into Postresql server in PgAdmin3
3. Select newgenlib database and click on the SQL button(On the top). This will open a sql editor
4. Enter the below query in the SQL editor window

update patron set user_password=md5('abc') where patron_id='1';

Now press F5 or the green triangle button to execute the query

5. Now go back to NGL Librarian Interface and login using User Id: 1, Password: abc

Looking forward to serve you.

RE: invalid user

hmarcbower

Thank you for your very speedy reply :)  I actually ended up doing exactly that – and the hash changed, so I have no idea what the password would have been before.  It’s a clean install from the newest build I could download NewGenLib Enterprise Edition version 3.0.4 Carbon(Release 2 Update 1 NB 14Oct2013) Release date: Wednesday October 2, 2013

It seems to be working now (just got it sorted out about a half hour ago).  I appreciate your reply with a solution to my problem, though.  I will continue working through the system to see what it’s like.

On another note – will you have signed java applets soon?  The newest versions of Java refuse to run unsigned applets.

Thank you,

Marc
