Hi,
For example: You would like to define a
Tag 901: Local classification number
a: Classification number
Step 1:
Go to C:/NewGenLibFiles/MarcDictionary
Open Local_MARC_Definition.properties using Word pad
Add two entries at the bottom of the file
901=Local classification number
901.a=Classification number
Step 2:
To make the above entry as part of your data entry template add it
Book.template(Or any other template file). The template files are
available in C:/NewGenLibFiles/MarcDictionary
Step 3:
To make it searchable, Add entry in
C:/NewGenLibFiles/SystemFiles/SearchIndexes.xml

Hi all,
I am sure you all know that every library has it's own local
needs, especially when we are talking about cataloguing.
What I would like to ask is if we have the possibility to create a
new field e.g. 9xx for our local needs and then to be able to use
this as an index in both librarian's client and webopac?
If this option doesn't exist I would highly recommend to the
developing team of NewGenLib to add it.
Thank you,
Nikos
